Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
Trinity Stocks ("we", "us") provides financial market analytics, portfolio tracking, and research tools. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws.
0. Who we are
Trinity Stocks is an independently operated personal project, not a registered company. For GDPR purposes, the operator of Trinity Stocks is the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us at privacy@trinitystocks.com for any privacy question or request.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Content you create: portfolios, trades, watchlists, and price alerts you enter.
- Feedback: messages you submit via the feedback widget, and an optional email for follow-up.
- Usage data: anonymized, cookie-free page-view analytics (see Cookies below).
2. Why we process it
We process this data to operate your account, provide the features you use (portfolios, watchlists, alerts), respond to feedback, and understand aggregate site usage. The legal basis is performance of our contract with you (the Terms of Service you accept when creating an account) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service reliable and responding to feedback you send us.
3. Third parties we use
- Vercel — hosting and anonymized, cookie-free web analytics.
- Resend — delivers transactional emails (e.g. password resets, feedback receipts).
- Yahoo Finance and other market-data providers — supply quotes and market data; we do not share your personal data with them.
These providers act as data processors on our behalf and only receive the minimum data needed to perform their service. Vercel and Resend are US-based companies; where your data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, it is protected under their respective Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
4. Cookies
We use a small set of strictly-necessary cookies from our authentication system to keep you signed in and to protect login forms from cross-site request forgery. They are exempt from cookie consent requirements under GDPR/ePrivacy because the service cannot function securely without them. Our analytics are anonymized and do not use cookies or track you across sites, so no consent banner is shown.
5. How long we keep your data
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, portfolios, watchlists, alerts, and any feedback linked to your account are permanently deleted immediately. Feedback submitted without being signed in isn't linked to an account and is retained to help us improve the product; you can request its deletion by emailing us with enough detail (e.g. message text and approximate date) to identify it.
6. Your rights
You can, at any time, from your account settings:
- Access & portability: download a copy of all data tied to your account as a JSON file.
- Rectification: update your name and password directly.
- Erasure: permanently delete your account and all associated data.
For any other request — including objection to processing or questions about this policy — contact us at privacy@trinitystocks.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority at any time — for example, the authority in the EU/EEA country where you live or work.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
